ISBE Issues Ed Reform Guidance

In an attempt to clarify some of the open questions about the Performance Evaluation Reform Act of 2010 ("PERA") and the Ed Reform legislation (SB7), ISBE issued a non-regulatory guidance document on December 5^th.  The guidance is in a Q&A format and covers a wide range of PERA and Ed Reform topics.  Although this guidance does not carry the weight of law, it is an important source of information and provides valuable insight into how ISBE is analyzing these issues.  Hodges, Loizzi attorneys reviewed drafts of the guidance prior to its completion and provided input, as did other parties involved in the actual crafting of the legislation.  The guidance is available online at: http://www.isbe.net/PERA/pdf/pera_guidance.pdf.
