JENNIFER M. DEUTCH advises school districts and public bodies in all areas of the law, with a special emphasis on student, special education and employment discrimination matters. She is a certified Federal mediator and serves on the Subpoena Committee of the Illinois Council of School Attorneys. Ms. Deutch co-authored Ethical Considerations in Settlement Negotiations, a publication of the NSBA Council of School Attorneys in April 2003 and recently authored Charter Schools and Students with Disabilities an article in NSBA's publication Inquiry & Analysis October 2010. Prior to entering law school, Ms. Deutch was a special education teacher. She previously acted as counsel for the United States Coast Guard and was associated with a Missouri-based labor and employment firm, where she advised private sector employers on a wide range of employment matters. Ms. Deutch graduated with highest honors from University of Wisconsin-Madison and  in 2002 she received her law degree from Vanderbilt University. In law school, she was honored with the Women's Leadership Scholarship and externed for the Honorable Thomas A. Wiseman, Jr., U.S. District Court Judge for the Middle District of Tennessee. Ms. Deutch is licensed to practice law in Illinois and Missouri.
