STEPHANIE E. JONES practices in all areas of school law, including labor relations, litigation, and student issues. She serves on the No Child Left Behind Committee of the Illinois Council of School Attorneys. She is a frequent speaker on a variety of school law topics, particularly special education, the Freedom of Information Act and the Open Meetings Act. Ms. Jones is co-author of the National School Boards Association publication, Understanding and Limiting Board Member Liability. She co-authored Planning for a Terrorist Attack on Schools: Practical and Legal Considerations, an article in the NSBA publication Inquiry and Analysis. Ms. Jones authored an article for the NSBA's School Board News entitled The Sexting Dilemma and has been invited to speak at the National Council of School Attorneys meeting regarding student discipline for "sexting." Ms. Jones graduated from Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas and received her law degree and a certificate in international and comparative law in 2001 from St. Louis University School of Law. While in law school, she served as chairperson of the National Moot Court Board and as a member of the St. Louis-Warsaw Transatlantic Law Journal. |
